Presbycusis is the gradual loss of hearing that occurs as people age, affecting approximately one-third of older adults. It often results in difficulty hearing high-frequency sounds and understanding speech, especially in noisy environments.

Presbycusis

Tinnitus is characterized by the perception of noise (ringing, buzzing, hissing) in the ears without an external sound source. It often accompanies other types of hearing loss.

Tinnitus

Exposure to loud noises can lead to both temporary and permanent hearing loss. This condition can develop gradually or occur suddenly due to an extremely loud sound.

Noise-Induced Hearing Loss

This type of hearing loss occurs when sound is not conducted efficiently through the outer ear canal to the eardrum and the tiny bones of the middle ear.
